CAKE WITH ORANGE OR LEMON FILLING

Dough:

1 cup sour cream
1 – 1 ½ teaspoons (dissolved in ¼ cup of warm water or milk) active dry yeast
200 g of non-salted soft butter (not melted!)
2 – 2 ½ cups flour
1 pack vanilla sugar or 1 t spoon vanilla extract (optional)

Filling:

Grate 1-2 oranges or lemons with skin, add 1 cup of sugar.  You may add 1-2 teaspoons of cornstarch or flour for thickening.

 

Preparation:

Mix all dough ingredients together and form 2 round flat loaves.  Place one of the loaves into round baking pan, spread filling over it and cover with the second loaf.  Make round opening in the middle of the cake, about 2 cm in diameter.

Bake about 30-40 minutes, or until ready (golden-brown).  Sprinkle with sugar powder.
